Hemlock & Hearth was born out of a desire to exercise creativity and embrace the ritual of scent. From my youth, lighting a candle or spraying perfume has been a calming practice, a way to ground myself in the present . Scent memory has always played a significant role in my life, tying emotions to places and experiences. Hemlock & Hearth is a way to bring these memories to life and share them with others.
The name Hemlock & Hearth reflects the duality of our inspiration—Southern Gothic charm, nature, and travel combined with the warmth and comfort of home. Some scents transport you to overgrown forests or forgotten manors, while others bring you back to cozy kitchens and sunlit porches. Most of all, we want our products to inspire luxury, comfort, nostalgia, and a sense of escape.
We take pride in small-batch, hand-poured candle making & perfurmery. Every detail—from our clean-burning, eco-friendly wax to our artisanal blends—is designed to provide a luxurious, sensory experience. Our signature amber glass jars are a deliberate choice, reflecting our moody, Southern Gothic aesthetic while offering a timeless, elegant design.

Hi, I’m Chanthal—founder & scent storyteller behind Hemlock & Hearth. With my roots and a love for memory-soaked spaces, I started this brand to blend the beauty of ritual, fragrance, and narrative. Each candle is hand-poured with intention, inspired by the places I’ve lived, the stories I’ve inherited, and the belief that scent can hold space for both comfort and mystery.
